Cancelled shows and shows in danger

Ok, just saw an alert that Pushing Daisies has been told to be ready to make episode 13 (midseason finale) a non-continuing episode (it was supposed to be a 2 parter, 14 the conclusion) and to be ready to make it a series ender. No decision has been made, maybe in the next week.
http://www.eonline.com/uberblog/watc...rss_topstories

Anyway, that started me on a search for cancelled/soon to be cancelled shows. Here's what I've found

Cancelled shows I was watching
The Riches (FX)
Dirt (FX)
New Amsterdam (Fox)

I also hear King of the Hill got cancelled.

On the bubble, Worst Week (CBS)

Other shows I think won't last (well, I may give up on them first)

Sanctuary (Scifi) , just doesn't do it for me, I've got a couple episodes taped but I'm not motivated that often to watch
Privaleged - I figure the annoyance factor will overwhelm the hot girl factor soon.
Worst Week - yeah, unless Red calls him a Dumbass soon I may walk away
Crusoe - I've got to catch up with this, but I doubt they'll hold it together. Seems like they're gonna need to have Friday carry the characters.

Shows I think are improving, but may still be on the bubble
Eleventh Hour - I think it might stay, in fact Fringe may end up being on the networks bubble more than this
Life on Mars - freaky gets you so far, and anyone remember Journeyman?

Re: Cancelled shows and shows in danger

Remember that King of the Hill was canceled once before too.
I actually like Sanctuary. I think from its cult following, it will make it to another season. As for the others, the only one I've watched is Crusoe. I think the show might be better suited for ABC Family channel...I can see how kids might like it.
The others I've recorded but wanted to wait to see if they made it to a second season. That of course is coming from the guy that has yet to watch all of the Eli Stones (in HD of course).

Re: Cancelled shows and shows in danger

Yeah...I always pick the ones to get the axe...by liking them =( over the years.

New Amsterdam
Journeyman
Firefly
Painkiller Jane
Thershold
The Dresden Files

At least the ones I like outta the UK are still going
Primeval
Torchwood
And not out of the UK- BSG and SG Atlantis (days are numbered though).

Any other Sci-fi shows out today I may not be aware of?

Re: Cancelled shows and shows in danger

The Dresden Files was actually pretty good.
Stargate Atlantis has been canceled but we are going to get Stargate Universe by late 2009/early 2010. They are doing casting and writing the first 10 episodes now.
I heard that SciFi was debuting a "Running Man" type reality show in the US.

My neighbor finally demanded I start watching Fringe so she can talk about the show around me. I have to admit, pretty cool show.

Re: Cancelled shows and shows in danger

I can't believe that lame Knight Rider drek isn't at the top of the list. I'm three or four episodes behind on my recordings of that, and I'm seriously thinking of just giving up and deleting the rest.

I like Fringe too. It's not for everybody though, which usually means it suffers in the ratings, which usually means...

Stargate Atlantis getting the boot is killing me. First SG-1 now this. Universe better be worth it! Hoping that it has a farscape feel to it.

Actually, the last time I saw ratings for KR, it was holding its own... 7 million viewers on the same night as the world series game, and I think it was #3 that week (the game was #1 with 14 million viewers, and the #2 show was not far ahead of KR)

Having said all that... it's definitely a "B" show... much like the old Universal series: Xena, Hercules, etc. The thing is, people are watching it, so it might last the season.

(I actually kind of like it, despite the fact that it's a little corny)

Re: Cancelled shows and shows in danger

I'm one of those who is watching KR.

This last episode looked interesting with the mention of K.A.R.R. who as gone totally cyborg. That will be good if they develop that storyline.

Oh yeah, K.A.R.R. is coming...

We watch KR because it's one we can watch with the kids. There is innuendo but they keep the actual action to a minimum fortunately, and the kids like all the high tech wizardry they show that looks cool but doesn't exist.

When they first mentioned K.A.R.R. I paused the show and explained to the kids about the original K.I.T.T. defeating his predecessor K.A.R.R. on the original series, so I was surprised to see a new K.A.R.R. although it looks like it will be fun to watch.

So the inventor of both K.I.T.T.'s invented 2 predecessors that both turned evil? Only on TV...

Knight Rider revamped
Quote:
Knight Rider, NBC's struggling freshman drama, is undergoing retooling, bringing it closer to the 1980s series. Among the changes, the options of three regulars on the show -- Sydney Tamiia Poitier, Yancey Arias and Bruce Davison -- were not picked up beyond the initial 13-episode order.

"We're moving away from the terrorist-of-the-week formula and closer to the original, making it a show about a man and his car going out and helping more regular people, everymen," said Knight executive producer Gary Scott Thompson. The revamped Knight will kick off with a two-part episode, possibly airing on Sunday after an NFL football game in January.
Apparently, they want to make the show more "realistic". Ok, all those who have a talking car, raise your hand!

I have a carputer that talks. Actually I have the voice stuff turned off, but iGuidance does tell me where to go.

I did find it funny that the 'hit' show Knight Rider had to be retooled. Sounds like they are dumbing it down even more. They are only keeping the younger, hotter cast members and will start using this futuristic, highly expensive car and support facility to help normal people instead of fighting terrorists. Okay, sure.

Oh yeah, My Own Worst Enemy and Lipstick Jungle got the axe.
