Re: Cancelled shows and shows in danger

Exclusive: 'Without a Trace,' 'Privileged,' canceled, 'Gossip' spin-off DOA | Numb3rs, Privileged, Without a Trace | Ausiello Files | EW.com
TV Series Finale | TV Show Canceled | Television Last Episodes
Without a Trace, Eleventh Hour, Cupid and Privileged canceled. Numb3rs renewed, as are How I Met Your Mother, Gary Unmarried, Rules of Engagement, and Old Christine.

Sad about Eleventh Hour, Cupid and I guess indifferent about Privileged (it was getting really monotonous). Awesome news about HIMYM and Rules of Engagement, expected Old Christine.

This one adds Cold Case to the renewal list Old Christine, Gary Unmarried, Rules of Engagement and Numb3rs renewed, 11th Hour canceled

This one claims Medium is moving to CBS and Fox might get Earl. Tim Goodman. The Bastard Machine : Is your show dead or saved? Biggest surprises, cancelations, renewals at network upfront.

No one has committed to Reaper actually being canceled, yet everyone assumes it.

So, my biggest disappointments so far, Life, Terminator, Eleventh Hour, Earl, and Reaper if it makes the list. Cupid borderline, I think it could have worked. Otherwise enough of my better shows made the cut.

Reaper is officially canceled and Medium was officially picked up by CBS. It was announced by CBS this morning.

It sure seems like the networks care a lot more about the total, net cost of a show more than the quality these days. Advertising dollars are down so much it must make more sense to push out realitycrap shows (yes I watch a few of them too) than the best dramas and other scripted shows. I'm sure its somewhat difficult from there position.

The paid channels should have an opportunity now to be the best place for scripted shows. But I'm not sure they are even doing that great.

I just nuked 7 series from my scheduled recordings. I guess I will have more free time next season.

Re: Cancelled shows and shows in danger

I'm well beyond that, when you include the stuff from earlier this year that are finishing out this summer

Previously canceled - Pushing Daisies, Dirty Sexy Money, My Own Worst Enemy (each have 3 eps left, should air in summer) as well as the Riches, Kylexy and Dirt.
Ended by plan - Battlestar, Shield, Prison Break, Life on Mars (they had an ending, otherwise not voluntary)
Recently announced endings - Eleventh Hour, Earl, Kings, Cupid, Reaper, Life, Privileged, Terminator, Crusoe, Worst Week.

So that's 20 shows I take down, and I'm not even sure how many of the cable shows are gone (Gong Show, Root of all evil, Testees, etc.

These are just what is still active on my BTV system.

Re: Cancelled shows and shows in danger

Did anyone know if Til Death (Brad Garrett's FOX show) was officially renewed? I heard that it was at the start of the year, but nothing since then...they never even finished airing the last season.

Yes, it's renewed. I've seen it mentioned in a few places. It's still funny but not so much since they cut the younger couple.

I miss Kat Foster...

Re: Cancelled shows and shows in danger

I noticed CBS picked up the NBC Medium show. This is set up in my recording que and I haven't changed it from a couple years ago. So I wonder if my BTV is still going to find and record it? Even though it's no longer on NBC?

I don't "think" the recordings we set up are strictly channel based. Guess I'll find out in the fall. I think I SHOULD know this ... but alas ... I'm using the "old fart" excuse. Can't keep up with all these fancy electronics thingies.

Re: Cancelled shows and shows in danger

My money says you need to re-enter it when the new shows start, the name and the name/channel may be different. I've had shows set to record on FX before they changed their name (to FX, go figure) and I had to resetup all recordings for that channel.

Re : Cancelled shows and shows in danger

If you are using "record on any channels" and they don't do something funny like change the Series ID for no reason, it will record...

Yup, that's how I have all my shows set. They broadcast ST:TOS on several different stations here as well as different seasons of "The Piano Guy". Having them set to Any Channel allows me not to miss any episode.

I believe you can also change this default in WebAdmin.

Re: Cancelled shows and shows in danger

Yes setting the recording to any channel should work. When I moved from Cox cable to DISH that is what I had to do. All the recordings went to different channels and in some cases stations. This did not effect the recordings, however, they went right on with no issues. If they change the name then it will not work of coarse, you will just have to keep an eye on it until it premiers.
