Stargate Atlantis
Looks like season 5 is the last season, Scifi made the announcement that the series is ending on tv and going to movies. And Stargate: Universe will start in late 2009.

Well, both Stargate and Atlantis have matured enough to go to the big screen so might be a good thing and much bigger budget to boot.

Wow. I am shocked. With Battlestar ending this year, you would think they would keep this franchise for another year to have an anchor.

Not too much of a surprise. They have made significant cast changes every year and simply didn't come up with anything really new. Last night's episode demonstrates the lack of creativity in the story line and character development. It was bound to happen, but I thought that maybe we'd get one more year. Too bad.

Makes me wonder is Sci-Fi going to axe itself as a network provider and focus on being a content provider, i.e. movies?

Stargate Atlantis's final TV episode will be January 9th (in US), with a couple of small breaks during the holidays.
Stargate Universe will be debuting on Scifi hopefully July 2009.

For those of you with HD channels, Universal HD will start showing Atlantis starting with the first episode.
Also, Stargate Universe will premiere on SciFi this fall of 2009.
