Fall 2007 TV Season Changes - Already

We've just barely begun the Fall 2007 TV Season and there is already a likely casualty:
Country Music Reality Show, Nashville has been pulled by Fox for the time being after only two shows. Don't expect to see that one come back anytime soon.

For the Eureka Fans, you'll be happy to know it was just picked up for a third season.
Source: TV with MeeVee

Anyone out there want to speculate on what other new premiering shows will not make it to the end of the season? Regardless, I'm hoping for an early exit for any CBS show to make way for Jericho. I'm a late one to the Jericho bandwagon, but after watching it in reruns this summer my family is hooked. It's a quality show that deserves to continue on.

I can't wait for Kid Nation to get canceled. I watched part of it on a rerun and it lived up to my expectations - crap! And I am a reality whore who will watch just about any reality show.

The success of your typical sit-com has a lot to do with the supporting cast and over-all "chemistry". And it can sometimes take a while for that to develop. But I must say, IMHO that "Back to You" seems to be starting off with one foot in the grave. I'll give it a few expisodes but would be surprised if it made it for a second season.

Kid Nation ... what can I say. Again IMHO it ranks right at the top of the "Worst" as far as reality shows go. But then I hate all reality stuff. I like to use Adam Savage's quote: "I reject your reality and substitute my own". (or something like that)

I disagree about K-Ville though. I think it has potential ...

Re: Fall 2007 TV Season Changes - Already

From what I've heard (but not watched) Big Bang Theory won't last. Of the geek shows, that can go.

I think Journeyman will eventually get killed, only because it is a lot like Tru Calling but not as cool and lacking Eliza Dushku. I like it though, but then again I liked Drive.

Any and all reality shows, can't die fast enough. KidNation, surprized they haven't been sued.

I don't expect a lot of drops from CW, and I do like a lot of the new stuff. Chuck and Reaper are great, I hope they stay. Bionic Woman isn't bad either, will NBC stick to its scifi?

I am still recording all the new shows though, since I have the space. I generally give it some time now since I got burned with Drive, Raines, The Nine, Six Degrees, Jericho, Day Break, War at Home, to name a few. Glad to see Dexter is back...I am just half way through season 1 and me and the wife are hooked.

Actually Jericho is coming back thanks to the nuts. It's a great show by the way for anyone who hasn't seen it yet, go rent it as the DVD is out next week. I didn't expect to like Jericho, but it was a very pleasant surprise and I'm glad those rabid fans sent all of those nuts to the execs

I'm recording many of the new shows and have even taken a peek at a few:
K-Ville - stopped recording
Journeyman - recording but not sure I'll ever watch it
KidNation - my wife is actually watching that trash
Back To You - Wasn't impressed and will probably drop it from the recordings
Chuck - decent. Sort of a cross between alias and the office... I'll probably keep this one recording for a while
Reaper - funny, I'll probably watch this one a bit.

I'm hoping Caveman never gets started! I can't believe they're basing an entire sitcom for those commercials.

Now if they did a comedy-talk-show with the Geico Geeko, that would be worth watching.

Pitch it to comedy central, it might fly. They need a replacement for Glick

Best TV programming idea I've heard in some time!

Have you noticed any difference in the "Geeko's" voice ?? I hear they recently changed actors.

Oh oh .. the secret is out. Even with smart skip we must have some closet commercial watchers .. heh heh.

Re: Fall 2007 TV Season Changes - Already

I know there is a thread somewhere, for what everyone is recording but it seems easier to post here. For those (ie. most of you) that live in the USA, the fabulous Canadian comedy "Corner Gas" is now broadcasting on WGN Superstation in the USA. Check it out, it is really funny. Set in a small farming town in Saskatchewan, it probably helps if you have ever lived or spent any time in a real small farming town but strangely it is a hit in the big cities too.

Five Canuck thumbs up

In all honesty, it was my wife's idea, which I totally agreed with.

Re: Fall 2007 TV Season Changes - Already

I wasn't impressed with "Back to You" or "Moonlight" (tho' may give the latter another chance). "Reaper" has great potential (I loved the Dirt Devil meets Ghostbusters aspect). Still not got around to watch'n other new ones yet.

Going to have to disagree on Journeyman. I don't see that one going anywhere.

Big Bang was not bad tonight, but I am recording it to watch while I am waiting for Heroes.
