where are these features?

I currently run MCE as my HTPC. It has a solid UI and is easy to use, it passes the wife test. However, MCE continually flakes out and locks up or gets jittery at random intervals.


Getting to the point, I love the interface that SnapStream PVS has and am seriously considering abandoning MCE for PVS.

Two features that aren't apparent to me.

1: There should be a button on the main menu for playing a DVD that can seamlessly eject the DVD tray, recall the tray, and play the movie. It would be a huge bonus if you could allow DVD archiving in DIVX format.

2: It would be nice to have a search feature either on the guide screen or in the schedule recordings screen. If it's there and I've missed it please direct me to it. It would make it very convenient.


There are infinite features but I feel that those two would blow MCE out of the water and make PVS an invaluable Media Center.

1) SS doesn't do DVD,yet... not sure if it will in the future, but I doubt it'll be anytime soon. YOu might want to look at using myHTPC to do this, it wouldn't be too hard to setup.

2) Search isn't yet available in FSUI, but I think it is fairly high on their list of features to add. You can search in the web interface, and on snapstream.net.
