Snapstream.NET with no EPG

Hello - first time poster AND user of SnapStream so please bear with me...

I am currently evaluating the trial version of Snapstream and I cant test the SnapSteram.NET functionallity so I hope someone with access to SnapStream.NET can help me.

Since I live in Sweden where no built in support for EPG exist I use XMLTV import for "local" EPG guide.

I wish to be able to program recodrings using my WAP phone.
I now wonder will SnapStream.NET allow me to "manually" enter recodrings even though no EPG exists ?

Will this SnapStream.NET recoding transfer to my PC even though I have set SnapStream.NET functions to disabled (a req. of the XMLTV import.) ?

Brg
Emil, Sweden

You can log into your system remotely and set up manual recordings, just as if you were setting in front of it. The only problem is you have no method of conflict resolution. If you have a conflict you will have to wait until you can get in front of the box and go into the FSUI to fix it.

I guess I should clarify that, if you have a daily recording and you decide to do a one time recording and it conflicts with your daily recording, you can not set SS to not record that days episode. You could delete the daily recording job completely of coarse. Also I think I heard you can't do a do not record this episode on manual recordings at all. I don't set up manuals as I have access to the EPG so someone else would have to verify that.

without .net support for your lineup (wich likely isnt going to happen any time soon) you will not be able to use wap devices to do what you want. there is however a setup that someone has coded up that accesses your local database and utilizes IIS built into most editions of windows to drive a webpage similar to ss.net you or someone else with moderate coding skills could adapt this system to function with a wap phone.

here is a link to the article in the community page:
