Hey, this sounds great! I look forward to trying it, but probably not this week (busy, busy). I'm sure you already thought of this, but I suggest an Undo/Redo option, and a way to bring up a list of cuts in a list box, and delete some of them.

IG cutter - cant make it work...
I REALLY want this to work, once I set up all my edits and hit process, I see a command box pop up only for an instant, but it appears to be a syntax screen, as though the IGcutter passed invalid command arguments to it.
I noticed there is no place in IGcutter to specify an output file. It appears to be a requirment for ASFcut to work. Did I miss somthing here? |

RobertH: Thanks a lot!
buskeyl: Unchecking the read-only box shouldn't affect it, because the output file (at the moment) is automatically "videoname_cut.wmv". Try checking it again, and see if it still has that problem. Yes, my program calls AsfCut through the command line; I'm hoping to find a good way to get the details of an error from AsfCut, or at least leave the command prompt open if it has an error, but I haven't figured that out yet. I'm glad it's working for you now; hope you're enjoying it! .I'm hoping to release a new version in a week or so that does the processing during the night, and has an option to toggle whether the cut sections are to be kept or to be trimmed. I might even have an alpha version of the commercial detection algorithm working

OK, still not out of the woods..
OK, I nailed it.
I was still having problems. As fisrt it seems to be the diffeent source videos, but what I found was it was the filenames! PVS for example stoes the name of a recorded show as Stargate SG-1-(The Menace)-2003-09-29-0.wmv. Because it seems that youe cutter program does not excapsulate the file on the command line it passes with quotes, the input filename asfcut sees is Stargate. It also seems that the perens cause problems too. As soon as I renamed the file so there were no high ASCII characters or spaces it works fine. IGx89, Let me take a second to thank you for your work. I am a big fellow and I need motivation to get to the gym. This PVS solution is a real winner for me, as I can be a "couch potato" and see my shows, whle I excercise! The mobile media player in the pocket PC is woefully short of needed features like bookmarking and key press based seeking, so I really needed a quick and easy way to edit out these commercials, and I didnt want to make it a huge video editing production. Your little project here is going to fit the bill nicely. SnapStream, look a this, it should be in the roadmap for a future release of SnapStream. Lee |

IG, took a look at your lil program, nice work so far. I pondered writing a lil front-end for AsfCut...but I'm a lazy bastard....
Some stuff you should really check out... http://discuss2.snapstream.com/vb/sh...&threadid=7986 And some nice software linked in that thread... http://toonarchive.com/karin/ I never fully got karin to work, but the interface was decent (especially for telling what parts would be removed...) Worth looking into ![]() Keep up the good work!

Great!
This is going to be a great program! Like someone else mentioned, I had to rename the file before it would cut the file. But I also had to copy my file into the same directory as the prgrams. Also, I find that the cutter is not terribly accurate -- it's leaving in a little bit on both sides of the cut....

No time?

Just released v0.2 beta! It now uses a separate program to do the cutting (IGCProcessor.exe), so you can create any number of cutting jobs, and then run IGCProcessor (either manually or at a preset time using Task Scheduler) to do the cutting. It also does the cutting at below-normal priority, so you don't have to worry about it hogging up your CPU.
BTW, I'd really appreciate someone making some good 48x48, 32x32, and 16x16 icons for both igcutter.exe and igcprocessor.exe for me; I have zero artistic ability .
