FYI on downloading a video file.

I thought streaming was a neat idea, but in reality with my cable connection and its low uploads speed it's not really worth it. I think downloading and playing the file back later is a better option. There is a program out that I think might work well for people who want to download a video from a PVS setup. It's called getright. I used this program years ago when I was on dial-up. It would allow you to restart a download where you left off, if you lost your dial-up connection. Since downloading video can take quite some time, it seems like a good idea to have that capability when downloading video. It can take several hours to download a VHS quality video over my Internet connection. I have only done this a few times but its nice to be able to stop the download during that time and then restart it later. Even the scheduling function of getright works. You can have it start the download during off hours. I didn’t think this would work, but it does. I have security turned on, and I figured it would not be able to get to the file. It does not seem to have a problem with it though. This is FYI.
