Problems playing back VBR encoded files
Hello!
This is not really a SnapStream issue but I'm posting it here in hope one of the great minds of this forum can help me! Apologies offered in case this is an abuse of the forum! My system has problems playing back files encoded with VBR (Variable Bit Rate) by my PVR 250. If I record with WinTV2000 (with VBR on) the playback is fine for a while (a couple of minutes, sometimes more, sometimes less) then it slows to about 1 frame per second. (Note: I can't record with SnapStream as it won't read from a PVR250 card over a non-english version of windows). If I later attempt to play back the mpeg file with Snapstream or even with Windows Media Player it plays fine and, at the point where it started crawling with WinTV2000, it stop refreshing its video so that I have audio over a single fixed frame. I can play these mpegs fine over another computer as well as with Ulead Movie Factory (which must use its own codecs and not rely on Windows/Direct-X). I do not have this problem if the encoding is done using Constant Bit Rate (CBR). I have no clue how to diagnose this .How do I see the list of installed mpeg2 codecs? How do I delete one? I am willing to experiment ![]() Thanks for all help. Mario |
