Recompressing ATI VCR files?
Hi! Has anyone found a way to recompress ATI VCR files? That is, shows recorded with ATI MMC in the "ATI VCR" format, which produces files with extension .vcr. Are these some flavor of MPEG or WMV, or something totally different?
I can play them with a variety of apps - ATI's file player of course, as well as windows media player and NVDVD, although these seem to be confused as far as time goes - WMP says an hour long show is 37,000-something minutes... Anyway, I'd like to take some old recordings made this way and recompress them to save some space. When I try to recompress/import in SS, it fails, guess it doesn't understand the format. If anyone has any suggestions on how else I might do this, I'd appreciate it.
