feature requests

i would like to request a feature to be added to allow a second input via an s-video/ rca plug ect for recording or use of devices like vcr's and or video consoles like ps2/xbox ect. hopefuly this could be set up to be done in full screen mode using the remote

also including mp3 play back would be helpful for integrating my media server without using multiple interfaces and programs.

thanks
drak

you can setup the use of a svideo/composite input by creating anotehr source and switching over to it but this can cause problems and is only good for using the web admin's recording system

you can drop mp3's into the media library and snapstream will pick them up and playthem but since folders havent been implemented yet it makes it difficult for larger media libraries

i havent done any thing yet with the alternate input method you sugested yet, however

i have done what you said with the folders and it works ok

however i would like to sugest the following point a folder to my cd-rom drive and have it a function to rescan the folder for contents for removable mediaso thatsnapstream will add them to the library. without manualy going to the admin program and forcing snapstream to update the folder by changing the confuguration file each time i insert a cd.

howerver aditional features i would like to see implimented with this would be to allow tagging of these files and have features like shuffle / play in order, looping of the song lists and replay individual songs during play without going to the media library every time. like a cd player functionality.

later ill look at the method you mentioned about the alternate input device and im sure i will have some feedback with this also

adding removable media is on the future feature list but it probably isnt of any great prioirty. Also in the future development are music/dvd playback engines but those wont be in for a while as well. Supposedly there are improvements to the gui interfaces slated on the map for the most current (as well as adding support for more hardware encoders) and then bringing gui functionality into the web interface. but as any good software company they arent putting down specific dates.
