remote with the pvr-250

ok let me start by saying how much i like This product !!!!

driver version hcw1_7_21177_pp2

only install the the stuff i needed wintv,ir,decoder, (no-ulead)

ps. tried beta drivers from the wintv site pvr250_17_21188-beta
they worked as well but when i resized the windowed displays in pvs3.2 the went black and stayed that way.

now to my question i also have the little black remote that came with it during the pvs re-install (upgrade to 3.2 beta) i tried to get the remote to work so i selected the black remote when promted by the install .. yada yada install went smooth ...

started pvs up and still no remote except for fullsceen button and audio up and down and mute all work but nothing else .....

has anyone see this behavior ....... its like it only half working .. no up down in the menu screens or anything except audio in live tv and recorded play back (mute works too) and show up on th osd.

read a post about setting the full screen button to act as an enter in the Irremote.ini but to my surprise there is no settings for Personal Video Station 3 there at all ???? can any one with a working remote look at there Irremote.ini that is located in c:\windows and tell me if you have any setting for PVS3 in there....

For the Black Remote append the c:\windows\irremote.ini with:

You also need to add:
Personal Video Station=

to the [Applications] section of the file.

Restart the App to get the app to read in the new settings. (Restart IR or Auto Start IR)

I have tried all of the above and still can't get the remote "black" one that came with my pvr-250 to work in either the Hauppage software or PVS.

I downloaded the beta drivers:

Hauppauge WinTV PVR PCI Driver Update 1.7.21177

WinTV IR 2.35.21052

appended the info to the .ini file etc... still can't get the darn remote to work at all.

Any ideas?

unfortunately if you cant get it even working with the hauppauge software then it will probably not work for SS. Are you sure the IR32 drivers are installed and running (it starts a tray app)? some users have noted that the IR32 app doesnt behave properly with certain drivers and if some of the software is left off the machine. So if you have updated to the 77 drivers, you also have to update to the IR and WinTV2k that came with that version of the drivers. You might have to follow the build cd instructions from SHS inorder to get the remote working properly. Please see the following page for those instructions:
