Yet another idea.....

I thought of what I think would be a pretty neat feature. Let me know what you think.

I am using Snapstream on a dedicated HTPC. I am always concerned that by turning my TV off (say..for the night) and leaving Snapstream running in Live TV mode my PC is running a lot hotter than is necessary.

How about a feature that could be enabled or disabled that after say 2 hours or some other configurable amount, drops SS back to the menu screen, reducing processor usage and making the box run cooler. If you were watching live tv maybe a small box could pop up saying it will drop to the menu in 1 minute OK, CANCEL or DISABLE or whatever. Like I said, this could be disabled if someone did not want to utilize this feature, but I think it would be a big benefit. This would in no way effect any recordings, because they can be done in the background just as it happens now.

Just trying to save my processor some sweat

What do you think????

Steve

Yes this would be cool - particularly as if you're in livetv but not really watching it all your recordings start a little late as it asks you if its ok to change channel.

Are you in the beta program? If so put in a feature request, if not i'll do it..

Yeah, this would be a good idea. People here are always leaving PVS in FS mode and then complaining that the computer is too slow. One of those minor details that add up to a good program.
