Unhappy Suggestions besides my PVR-250

Hello to all - as I am new here.

I purchased the PVR-250 yesterday, and encountered a problem where after driver installation the card would cut off my dial-up connection. I was still connected, and could ping addresses and domains, but internet explorer usage was gone.

Even uninstalling the card would not solve the problem, so I had to use WinXP system restore. I contacted Hauppauge today and was told it is a known problem, but they have been unable to produce it. I'm waiting to find out if their engineers can come up with a solution.

Assuming they are not able to fix this problem, I was looking for a reccomendation for a different brand card to use. I'm looking for something in the same price range ($75-$150), that offers the same benefits of the PVR-250. I've seen some good things from Pinnacle, but I'm open to anything that works well with the snapstream software, and hopefully with windows xp and a dial-up connection .

Thanks for your help.

you could look into one of the adaptec VideOH! products
http://www.snapstream.com/Products/P...VS3_SysReq.asp

they are listed on the support page and they provide hardware encoding and tv tuner.

Thanks for the advice guys. I ordered a VideOH! Digital Media Center PCI version today, and look forward to trying it out.

I'm assuming since snapstream supports the usb version that they support the pci version as well.

I'm sorry to say that isn't the case. We had developed on some pre production Adaptec USB VideOh!s. We recently got the PCI version in and will be adding support for this card in a future release.

So does that mean the card won't work at all with the software, or does it mean there's no support for it?
