What happened
I have to ask, how did version 1.1 get released? 1.0 worked fine(ish) but now I can't record anything without ssw.exe crashing. The problem seems to lie in the fact that I have a wintv card and I cannot change the capture interface to anything but direct show. I can't select video for windows without the web interface telling me that "if the tunning interface is set to direct show then the capture interface must also be set to direct show". What the issue here as the tunning interface is already set to "Happague WinTV PCI series". I can change this to another card and then change the capture to video for windows however on my return to this screen the capture interface is blank. Its seems like the software thinks that the happauge tunning interface is direct show?
Anyway, I'm not a fan of non free software and this brings it home as I don't have the code so I can't fix this, very frustrating. I found snapstream while looking into starting a project for something very similar on linux. I've played with "vcr" and I wasn't impressed and I wanted something that was web based and most importantly with the ability to stream as my PC with the TV card is on a projector. Version 1 seemed to work ok, the odd crash, only had support MS encoder etc so I held off buying your product and held off writing my own, I figured that the later versions would fix the crashes and the product would mature..... This is an extremely clean install of win98 and everything on the machine works perfectly, it's a clean install of snapstream etc OK, back to coding. |

This new version still isn't updating the "Watch" list. If I delete an entry from the Watch list then the video that I just recorded does shows up, otherwise it seems that I can't get more than 1 video to show in the Watch list. Any way around this? In addition this version still isn't allowing me to enable the auto adjust mixer so I'm still not getting any audio.

dj,
We haven't had any problems with the watch list not updating. Are you perhaps low on disk space? This might cause shows to expire immediately upon being recorded. The Auto Adjust Mixer feature is also in testing and may not work on all systems...but if you select the correct inputs yourself and disable auto adjust mixer, you should be able to obtain sound.

on the possibility that the issue might be a low disk space issue: if this is what's happening, you should see clear evidence of it in the log file.
there are two parameters that could create this behavior -- 1- Maximum Show Space (only in the full version) and 2- Minimum Free Disk Space (defaults to 512MB)

I have the recording mixer set to record line-in and in Snapstream settings I set it to use SB Live! Wave In and I'm still not getting audio. When it's recording should I be able to hear the audio over my speakers?
Regarding the Watch List not updating, I now set the min. free disk space to 50 MB's and it's still not updating the Watch list, although the ASF file is in the Shows directory. Actually I got 2 recordings to show up but this is because I had done 3 recordings then deleted one from the watch list, then the other 2 showed up...very strange. I'm using IE 5.5 by the way. Here's a strange thing, if I switch my recording mixer to mic it will pick up what's coming out of the mic, if I switch it to wave it will pick up wav sounds played from my computer, but when I put it on line-in it just gets nothing...
