Philips MCE Remote with Snapstream

Anyone tried this remote with snapstream and know if it works? It's an MCE remote, but I like the look of the IR receiver and I've heard good things about the reception.

Really what I want to do is program my Sony Remote Commander (universal remote) to drive Snapstream as well - any suggestions on doing that besides plunking down the $$ for another remote that I'd use just for teaching my Sony?

I've got a PVR350 that came with a small IR receiver, so if I can use that, I'd like to, but I have a feeling it's proprietarty.

The Phillips Remote arrow and enter buttons work because they mimic keyboard presses. The other buttons I'm sorry to say don't work.

As for the Hauppauge remote it does work. Just install PVS again and choose the Hauppauge remote as your desired remote. You can then learn the Hauppauge remote codes on your Sony.

You may want to wait a few days for the release 3.2. Hint Hint

FYI

You need to have the Hauppauge IR app running before SS will install support.

PBMax, I found docs on adding in remotes after SS installed. Is there a doc on adding Hauppauge remote?

Cant you just wait but seriously the 350's decoder insnt in the list of decoders as far, only software decoders and some users playing with an xcard or something like that I dont remember

and if you are a registered user you are more then welcome to help the beta community test it

has anyone seen if there is a plugin for these mce remotes for something like girder?? it seems they have a plugin for almost everything else

And what I meant was that the 3.2 release is right around the corner. The original method I gave him was a complete reinstall. This would install the new version along with adding remote support.

Didn't mean to get anyone's hopes up.

MCE Remote

The MCE remote will work I have it working but I am using Girder with it and there is a plugin for it . It works perfect

PVR Remote Addition to SnapStream

PBMax has all the right info except the following which i found elsewhere in the forums:

You also need to add:
Personal Video Station=

to the [Applications] section of the file.

without that, the ir.exe program won't recognize snapstream.

and another thing

thanks to all the previous posts so that i could get my silver remote to work with ss. i thought the following might be helpful to people reading this thread.

to get the green power button on the silver remote to start the full screen interface:

open notepad and copy this into it (or wherever your program is):

"C:\Program Files\SnapStream Media\Personal Video Station 3\WTLPVSApp.exe" /mode fs

then save the file as fs.bat in the windows\system 32 folder (ss help says to save it "to the path where Personal Video Station is installed," but that didn't make sense or work for me). then in the irremote.ini in the windows folder, add the following to the [Default] application:

GRNPOWER={run(fs.bat)}

then save the ini, exit and restart the remote (i actually had to restart the computer to get it to work properly, for some reason). Now, any time you press the green button the full screen interface starts! (unless window's focus is on a hauppage program where that button would have an hauppage function i assume - i don't have any other hauppage stuff on my computer).

i think the following should work for the black remote, but i don't have one to try it out on:

TV={run(fs.bat)}

i hope that helps someone else because it took me a little while to figure that out and i couldn't find it searching the forum.
