Stupid questions from a newbee
Ya know for someone pretty intelligent I just don't get this snapstream thing.
First I'll preface this by saying I used to have Microsoft's Ultimatetv with dual tuners and I was in heaven. Unfortunately mother nature (lightning) decided to ruin that good run and having just expended my fun chest fund (toys & family vacation) I was _forced_ to get cable. The only good news is that I have an hdtv cable converter box hooked up to my 43" wide screen hdtv monitor tv(Hitachi) which is in my living room. Okay so now you know I'm totally into the whole DVR thing and what tv equipment I have, so let's get to the pc side of this thing. I have two computers. One is my daughter's computer, an intel 1.3ghz with 512mb ram, 40gig drive. It does _NOT_ have a tuner card and it's hooked up to a dlink wireless router using NAT. I have time warner cable broadband. My other computer is mine and it's a notebook. I usually use it on my couch in the living room with it's built in wireless to connect to the net and work(citrix). So how would I make this snapstream work? While there is a cable connection in the computer room where my daughter's pc is, it doesn't have a cable converter box that would allow access to channels above 78 nor do I have a dedicated computer sitting next to my living room converter box. So what do I do? How can I get this to work? Wireless USB? Thanks in advance, Robert |
