PVS 3.0 Recording wrong programming

I have a Hauppage WNTV USB Tuner, Snapstream PVS 3.0 , I have a Scientific Atlanta Cable box using cox digital cable


I installed everything and it works fine.....

the program guide is accurate, and i can view TV just fine

but when i schedule a recording it seems to record the last channel i was last viewing instead of the program itself,

do I have to manually change the channels in "View TV", in order to record them in advance or any pre-scheduled recordings,

it seems like this defeats the whole purpose, especially with remote scheduling.....and the .NET feature

I see talk about this IR blaster thing, is that the answer ?

what is it and how do you use it, i really dont understand it, or is it something else i am doing wrong ?
