Why is the quality of live tv very pixalated almost looks like streaming media quality. the picture quality is perfect when using intervideo dvr.

In the web admin under recording settings check the default recording quality, upping this will increase the quality. I haven't used that other package, but I would guess that they are using different approaches, and a major difference is the ability to stream the live tv under Snapstream, but that changes the approach to getting the video.

I've got the PCI version of this card and have had similar results. I think with the AIW 7500s we are seeing issues with the ability of the card - perhaps low onboard video memory. You can up the quality settings but my guess is that unless you have a super fast CPU you will start seeing significant frame loss. I am running on a P5-1.5G and pretty much have to stick with the out-of-the-box video qualiity (near-vhs I think) to not experience frame loss. Any higher quality settings and the pixelization (sp?) goes away but the CPU hits 100% and then I end up with Max Headroom jerkiness in the video.

Try recording a show at high video quality and playing it back> Your results should be flawless. My take is the AIW 7500 series is not going to get you to LiveTV that you'll be happy with. Just my 2 cents.
