Well, if you use HERemote, and cross your fingers SnapStream might change the channel about 60% of the time. I tried without luck for over two weeks to get the software drivers to function 100%.

HERemote is a great product and works every time when you use the interface provided by it, but SnapStream tends to flake out when the CPU is high (which is quite often). So, you get a recording, just not the one you are looking for.

Do a search on the boards here for HERemote and there are some instructions on how to set it up. I for one found it to be a show stopper, along with not being able to tune to any channel in the 4 digit range.. SS wouldn't even try, so I now use a competitive product and will just have to live with the $49 loss.

Finally I can buy snapstream. Yes it is barely possible to get Dish Network to work with snapstream and the Irblaster, assuming you use Windows XP and use the Tvsheduler.net software. I can now change channels reliably. Thanks Bob for all your good, free and very prompt advice.

Try setting the HeRemote.exe process value to High in the windows task manager (Windows XP only). Push control alt delete, select the processes tab and right click on He Remote.exe. Set the priority to High. Bob's software at Tvscheduler.net does work, however sending a channel change request to the serial port with HeRemote seems to be interrupted sometimes while snapstream is recording or streaming live.

All snapstream has to do is contact Bob about his learning and transmitting code, make a deal with him, incorporate it into snaptream and then pause the streaming process during channel changes or stop polling the serial port etc. (whatever is causing the interruption) and the problem would be solved. There could even be an option in their video setup section "pause streaming when sending channel data" for those who have problems.

Snapstream I repeat (accept reality) it is your software it is not the irblaster IT IS YOUR SOFTWARE. Snapstream is understandably a CPU hog and for whatever reason it interrupts serial port operation when streaming/recording with HeRemote. This probably does not happen when using your own irtuner.dll in conjunction with your own software, but you guys have a problem learning and transmitting codes (specifically dish network equipment) so we can't use your irtuner.dll. Dish network is picking up a lot of new customers you had better talk to Bob. The irblaster works fine you don't need any new hardware. You have a possible solution.
