Smile Do I need both a TV tuner and Video Card?

Hi everyone I recently saw snap stream on Tectv show The Screensavers and was very interested in your product. I purchased the new release of Snap stream 3 and before I Install it on my PC I would like to know what I need in order to watch Snap stream on my TV. I have no interest what so ever to watch on my PC I rather watch on a TV set like I do with my TiVo. I own a HP Pavilion 7865 Desktop and would like to know if I want to watch on a TV do I need a TV tuner card as well as a Video Card with Video Out? Or do they have a TV video card with a out to TV output. I saw that Nvidia Personal Cinema was the best but realized that My PC does not have a AGP slot just PCI slots. Any help would be appreciated thank you!

There are cards that do both TV in and TV out all in one, but I can only think of AGP ones. You'll have to do some searching I think to find a PCI one. I would also think that having to use PCI for this will seriously impact the performance (as AGP is like souped up PCI).

You might want to look at the ATI All-In-Wonder VE. It's a PCI based TV Tuner and Video Card with TV out. There are lots of TV card out there and lots of PCI Video cards with TV out. Finding what fits in your machine is the key. The ATI solution only takes up one slot.

I didn't realize the ATI card was PCI, my point was that I didn't think many PCI cards do both like that. There are certianly a lot of cards that do one or the other though.

yeah. I think this card was geared toward those who are in MINGO's situation. I think this is the only solution that has both.

Smile THX for the help!

First of all let me thank you all for being so helpful and allowing me to be part of your community. Your help is much appreciated. I found a webpage that showed the ATI TV Wonder VE PCI card and was confused because it seemed just to be a TV tuner card with no Video out. http://www.tipsdr.com/3A177-2122.html Then I found another page that has a card as described in all your helpful posts. http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...?sku=A177-2064 are these two different cards that are branded with the same Name? I saw that ATI has a sale on this card with a remote but I see no specs on their web page. THX for everyone’s help.

The first one is the TV Wonder, which is just TV in... The second is the one that PBMax was talking about, that one would do what you want.

It doesn't appear so, that one is the TV Wonder, which would just be the TV card, not video and all.
