Question Multi Format Capture Card Support?

I live in Hong Kong, where multiple video formats are common on TV channels. I'm interested in SnapStream, but it won't be of much use to me if I can't support both PAL and NTSC configurations.

I need to know two things:

1) Are there any video capture/tuner cards that support auto-detection of the video format on a channel? Or if auto-detection isn't available, can different video configurations be stored for each channel (example, Ch 1 = NTSC, Ch 2 = PAL)?

2) Does SnapStream support this? In other words, will SnapStream modify the resolution/framerate being captured depending on the channel, or (worst case) will it still work with a standard resolution even if the input source changes?

Finally, because I have a mixed type of setup where there is a building antenna and a cable box, is there some way to get SnapStream to work with certain channels being capable of direct tuning and others requiring an IR blaster? (this would be akin to having a satellite tuner and an off-air tuner in a single setup, using the IR blaster for the satellite IRD and the capture card's tuner for the off-air channels)

Thanks,

I'm not really sure about 1) and 2), but for 3), you can set up multiple video input sources under the Advanced Options list. You can configure one to use the video tuner and one to use the S/composite-video input (or the tuner input and lock to a specific channel) and tune via the IR Blaster.

You'd have to select only one of these to view live TV with at any one time, however, and for recordings you'd have to modify the Advanced Options list to select the source.

You can do this is you have multiple tuners installed in your sytem. You will have to manually select which tuner records the show.

It can't do it automatically. Sorry.
