I am using the nVidia Personal Cinema card and remote. I installed PVS3.0 RC1 on thursday and the remote worked fine. This morning I installed RC2 with prompts for remote type (nVidia is not an option) But none of the choices worked. So whatever was installed by default in RC1 operated with the nVidia remote, but the RC2 build that lets you select a remote doesn't work with the nvidia remote. Any Ideas?
Thanks, Mitch |

MM, for RC1 I just ran the default install and my Nvidia remote worked. RC1 installed did not have a section to let you choose the type of remote. But RC2 has a section for selecting the remote brand. I thought that the nVidia remote would just mimic one of the others, but part of the routine is to try to "find" the one you chose, and then you get an error that it was not found. The error tells you to see the help file to set up your remoet manually, but I was unable to find that section in ehlp, probably not in there yet

Nvidia Remote Fix???
Any fixes for the Nvidia remote? I just got 3.0 and it doesnt work with my remote. After installign and setting Snapstream to use X10 remote, it locks up (when loading the home page). After a reboot my system no longer would find my remote even though it was still in device manager. Any suggestions? Does anyone have thier Nvidia remote working? I am thinking of trying to use Glider to do this.

May not be exactly what you are looking for but if your remote is an Nvidia EVGA Personal Cinema usb remote (CM21AUSB) this work around will help. Install remote software supplied on your CD, Install Girder 3.2.9 and then install Girder X10/ATI plugin. If you have the Nvidia remote software running in the background you want have to setup the mouse controls in Girder. This remote work great with Girder one button will perform three different functions. Button pressed, button released and button held down.

I thought you had one of the new Nvida remotes. These are USB and are RF just like the ATI ones. They look very similar too. The solutions give here are for that remote.
Sorry.
