Moving video off of your hard drive

Is it possible with this product to record programs and then make VHS tapes? I would like to record children's programs off of DirecTv and then make tapes of them to watch in our motorhome while we travel.

Also, what about other formats? I am not sure if the technology is available yet, but what about writing to DVD or some other media that can be connected to a TV.
