FIOS QAM will give you all the local channels in HD. You can record those with HvR-2250 or Hd homerun. You will also get your public television channels and music channels. You will not get any premium channels or basic cable type of channels this way.
HD PVR is only 1 encoder per HD PVR and you need a set top box per encoder.
