4.9.2 released a week ago?

Guess I'm the last to know it released.

I usually get an email but not this time, and there haven't been any posts to announce the release either. Only a couple of posts from people saying they were upgrading to 4.9.2 but because so many people use the betas it wasn't clear that they were upgrading to the real version.

Oh well.

The email for that always comes a few days/weeks/months after the actual release...

But a good reason to read GeekTonic no?

It would be nice to have this sort of thing announced on these forums and on the blog officially by SS. No matter how small the update, more information is always better than no information - even if the SS folks are busy.

Oddly BTV/Link usually does a product check... and should have mentioned it..

Yup, I found out through Brent's blog as well. No update notice either.

I do check out GeekTonic occasionally but I guess I need to do so more LOL.

Usually someone will post within a day of a new release asking questions about the new release. Or an announcement post from an SS'er. Or something to clue us in, but this time nada.

Is it just me or does everything just seem to be slowing down? Activity on the forum, activity from Snapstream, all slowing down. I hope it isn't a sign of things to come.

Re: 4.9.2 released a week ago?

Brent, Geektonic's great. Keep it up. It's on my favorites page everyday.

Zogg, agreed. I'm also concerned as I'm guessing many have moved on to another choice and the lack of any major changes in SS-land don't have many talking.

Re: 4.9.2 released a week ago?

I upgraded Saturday/Sunday, only because I had been on 4.8.2 for so long. I found out later that day it had only been release 1 day before my birthday!

Re: 4.9.2 released a week ago?

I thought it strange to release 4.9.2 the same weekend as the DTV transition, knowing both would generate support requests. Perhaps they wanted 4.9.2 available for it's QAM & HD improvements / fixes, but initially released it quietly to mitigate the immediate support request volume.

I only found out because I fired up 4.9.2b today and it said it had expired. I wonder how many days worth of recordings I didn't get.

Actually, I got that as it was recording, so I think it's only the UI that got deactivated that way, not the actual recording process...

Okay, good. I don't have the UI running as we mostly use Netflix streaming via VMC now for our entertainment.
