Simple Question About Basic Cable/Tuner

I realize that this must be a very simple question to some, but I have looked and looked through many threads and can't find the answer.

My question is: Unencrypted basic cable channels into TV tunner; Allows me to change channels on server computer.

On the Link computers: Do they also get all the channels? Or do they have to channel the server computer in order to see other channels?

It would be the latter. The Link app allows other PCs to connect to the btv server and use the tuners (if live).

Thats what I was afraid of. The project that I am working on has more than 20 Link computers on the LAN.

My only solution seems to be: Have a tunner for each channel that I want to Link out, and then hide the other channels so that the message about affecting other users on channel change will not be shown.

I currently have 3 TV tuners, Sat. System w/quad LNB to 3 receivers, sending 3 fixed channels on LAN to Link to these computers. I am thinking that I will need to get to 6 of every thing before I will be happy with it.

I don't know if this helps, but I believe the current beta allows you to specify a specific tuner for live TV only. Not sure how or if it applies to link.

Wow, sounds interesting. Any chance of explaining the project a little?
