Why can't I find an HVR-2250?

Anyone know why the 2250s aren't available anywhere? I just went to buy one and it's backordered everywhere. Even Amazon has a 2-4 week wait.

And there's only one on ebay.

Re: Why can't I find an HVR-2250?

my guess is the digital transition has prompted everyone to upgrade, and since the 2250 is the best one to get, retailers have simply sold out.

I missed that one. The Non-MCE version is OOS, though.

Use the Newegg auto-notify feature for the non-mce version. That is what I did when the first came out and were hard to get a hold of.

Re: Why can't I find an HVR-2250?

I'm sure everyone's upgrading for HD or the digital conversion. I'd just set up some alerts on eBay (I got mine on eBay from Buy.com with a Live cash rebate), Amazon, NewEgg, etc. You can always try to hit the Brick and Mortars, too, although their prices tend to be higher in my experience.

Re: Why can't I find an HVR-2250?

is there anything wrong with the MCE version? I think that's the one I got, and it works fine.

-- edit. I guess I did not get the MCE version. I got the same one that's out of stock now.

Re: Why can't I find an HVR-2250?

I think the main difference with the MCE version is that you pay more for the MCE version because it comes with the remote and IR blaster, which isn't bad if you need those.

Re: Why can't I find an HVR-2250?

remember that the MCE IR Blaster is not compatible naively with Beyond TV, there is a third party solution on the forums.

They are on sale at buy.com. Look for product Hauppauge 1213.
