Houston Comcast clearQAM & DVD jukeboxing?

I"m building a HTPC -- curious if BTV can show the clearQAM Hi-def channels.

I don't use a STB, just goes straight into my HDTV, and we get around 20 high def channels in the clear...but we have to punch in weird numbers to get to them, like 89.1 for CBS 11, 87.3 for NBC2, etc.

It's driving my wife nuts, and she wants DVR. :-)

Also, can BTV playback ripped DVDs? We'd like to free up our shelves -- too many cases!

Yes with the correct tuner BTV will play and record your Clear QAM channels. The HDHomerun is one of the tuners you could use. You would map the channels to a local lineup and you could use the guide to select the channels.

It can also play ripped DVDs. It does depend on how you ripped them. There are many people here who have done that.
