Enterprise Edition People

Does anyone that is active in this Forum really care about the Enterprise Edition? I have this feeling that there are not that many.

Yep. Corporate clients pay a high cost which I'm sure includes setup and probably pay annual maintenance fees which include priority technical support. They probably would not bother with the forums unless they picked up a copy of consumer for the house.

Re: Enterprise Edition People

Thus the reason why you don't see an 'Enterprise' section amongst these forums.

Re: Enterprise Edition People

I was just wondering cause Rake posts alot about it. I thought maybe I just was missing the point on his announcements and there were people in this Forum that were interested in things like his most recent announcement.

I just seem to be losing Interest since we just seem to get the crumbs from the Enterprise Edition and really no Major "Feature" announcements about the Retail Version lately.

Well, it's not like there is anything exciting to post about the consumer edition... Which is why he only writes about the enterprise edition or to ask the few remaining customers to vote on polls about BTV... Also keep in mind that his post last year about the 2008 plans probably got SageTV to gain a bunch of new customers...

Re: Enterprise Edition People

I think it makes for inexpensive advertising. If you're a home BTV user, read through the forums, and read "enterprise" enough, you might realize the enterprise edition is something you need at work. Does the OP get a commission if this thread results in a enterprise sale?

Re: Enterprise Edition People

Who knows? Maybe Enterprise customers will demand PIP or searching your recorded shows or upcoming recordings without losing your buffer, while still watching TV that is in a little box in the corner. If they start demanding that, then maybe our crumbs might taste better.

Then why is there an Enterprise Advertisment on the top right of the forums?

Re: Enterprise Edition People

I don't like the fact that there is an enterprise ad on the snapstream consumer page. I really am curious how many enterprise customers SS really has, is it a dozen, a hundred, a thousand? I have no idea what their overhead cost structure is, and how much income they need to keep alive. Responses from SS have been relatively poor lately, relatively because getting one response from time to time does happen (See kilrsat above) but then usually that's it. There are a ton of bugs and feature requests that are ignored, not just assigned a bug id, but completely ignored. The community seems to be fixing most things themselves, I'm hoping people are at least getting channel and compatibility issues addressed. Right now my system is working fine, and when there was a major messup in the beta it got addressed relatively quickly, but a lot of little tweaks are not getting done. Well, look at the release logs ands a lot of tweaks are supposedly getting done, but a hell of a lot more are not.

Oh well, as long as nothing breaks I tolerate them. But yes, every time they mention the word Enterprise my instinct is to shake my Wii remote at them.

Be careful, that's a misdemeanor in most jurisdictions and probably a felony if minors are present.

Seriously - Yeah, it's kind of a slap in the face.

Because of what kandlg said... A lot of the visitors to the SnapStream forums are IT people at companies where SnapStream Enterprise can be used and are in positions to recommend our product.

It's something we're trying out (it was turned on yesterday). For all I know, it won't drive any interesting traffic to SnapStream Enterprise at all and we'll end up pulling it.
