Well I do have some programming experience but right now I am evaluating the best approach and if it is too much coding for me to do.

Re: MediaMVP to Popcorn Hour/NMT Plugin...

I'm using my PCH as a poorman's (also small and silent) Link client in the bedroom. My major concern when I bought the PCH was commercial skipping as my wife would not have even looked twice at the device if she could not skip past the commercials (fast forward may have been acceptable but not desirable). Fortunately the PCH offers a 30 second skip feature. So now I just point the PCH at the BTV server file library and it's a simple matter to scroll through the list of files on the simplified PCH GUI and watch recordings.

This usability could probably be taken up a level by utilizing the various "jukeboxes" that use coverart and fanart to organize and display the files in an attractive GUI. It's amazing what the devs over on the NMT forums have been doing with html. It would be a matter of renaming the files to accommodate the jukebox scanning routines and simply running a batch file to update the jukebox every night. I don't have an overwhelming need for this since I really don't have a large backlog of recordings or do much archiving. It would be interesting to see if the file renaming could be automated also.

Re: MediaMVP to Popcorn Hour/NMT Plugin...

That's what I thought I would do as a starter plugin for it and then move on to more advanced stuff. But it seems like interest isn't too high here so I've put my development on the back burner for now since it's not a necessity for me either. I just wanted to provide something for the community that the community wanted.

Re: MediaMVP to Popcorn Hour/NMT Plugin...

I'd love to have a NMT plug-in for BTV! I'm disappointed that you decided to 'put it on the back burner' though. I think that there'd be a lot of interest in the plug-in if more people knew of it. Did you happen to have asked the question on the NMT's forum itself? Right now, there aren't many ports to the NMT.... GB-PVR, maybe MythTV and that's about it. And not offense to their developer's, but GB-PVR software it a little rough around the edges. BTV, on the other-hand, is incredibly refined by comparison. And MythTV, I believe, just runs on Linux.

I did have a thought about how to connect to the NMT.... I don't know how to make it work, but doesn't the NMT have it's own web browser? Would it be someway possible to bring up the BTV web manager within NMT?

If you change your mind and want to go ahead with the plug-in, I'd be more than happy to be a guinea pig.

Yeah, the NMT has a web browser but it is limited and I tried, it won't work.
