Post Serious Purchase Question

I am thinking of purchasing this but I have a reservation.

I have an older version that I got with my Hauppagge sound card 1,2,0,558.

And the sound and video are out of sync. Video trails sound I believe when recording Near VHS.
Output file is .asf format.

So I'm thinking, what if the newest pay version does this too? Is it the software, a setting, or somthing else?

I too have an old Hauppage card. It is a WinCast PCI. However, I have a modern sound chipset (C-Media AC97 on mobo). I have had no sync problems in the 4 or so months that I've been using the full version of SnapStream 2.0. I have not seen SnapStream generate .asf files. All I can get is .wmv. However, the much anticipated Quartz is supposed to handle other codecs -- mpeg1 would be nice. mpeg2 would be nicer.

ok

Those were good posts , a little informative , but what I'm looking for really is someone who has had the audio sync problem and found a way to fix this.

I think my next step is to install this software on a different faster computer to isolate the problem.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Make sure you have the latest driver for your card and download the demo for the latest Snapstream version 2.0 and try that.

Smile ok think i got it now

I happened to look at my sound card properties. and I noticed it was using "Record through Totoal Recorder" for the recording. Total Recorder is a program that I use to record streaming music (good program too by the way). So I selected my soundblaster pci 128 instead of that one and the tests look much better.

Thanks for the help and the hints.

Sorry for not posting in the support forum.

BTW

I also found the "quality" setting also affects video lag (out of sync audio being ahead of video)

So my 1ghz AMD can barely handle the "near VHS" setting without getting out of sync.

This was widely published but I refused to believe it for some reason.
