TV-Wonder VE - Best Driver?

What is the best driver to use with a TV-Wonder VE for WinXP? ATI has a 7.1 and a 7.6 beta driver. I have also heard that the drivers here may work: http://btwincap.sourceforge.net.

Anyone have any ideas?

Nate

To my knowledge the 7.1 drivers work fine -- not sure about the 7.6.

The stuff from sourceforge supposedly gives you some better performance but you lose the ability to use the custom apps that come with the tuner card.

Thats not a loss.. I installed the 7.6 drivers and application and the App said I didnt even have a capture card installed!!! Ati drivers are crap, and the application is no better.

Use the BtWincap drivers, there much much better. Remember that they work properly so you can always uninstall them and go back to Ati drivers if you dont want to use the higher resolutions. Be warned that one major issue I had with the ATI drivers which BtWincap fixed was that if you run a capture application other than ATI's own, you cannot run the ATI applications again until you have performed a reboot.

I never use the ATI apps. I use DScaler and SnapStream. No need for the crap ATI writes.

When I installed the BtWincap drivers I had an odd problem with channels being one off in SnapStream (channel 3 would really be 4).

It seems like there are no good drivers and ever driver has problems.

I also have a WinTV PCI, but had all kindas off sound problems. Its a older card (~3 years)

Any other ideas?

The channel being one out is a problem with Snapstream. I also have has that issue and needed to reinstall PVS to get it working properly again. This can be clearly demonstrated by the fact that the drivers work perfectly in other software packages. I have no idea what causes it in PVS.

If you have access to the beta forum, you will see this same problem of channel numbers has been reported by other users as well with different cards, so its not your card or drivers.
