Post serious question

Do you guys consider this as t.v. ripoff? Isn't this like illegal mp3s? Aren't televison companies losing advertising money by us watching the shows on our tv? Or is this not a big deal? Hmm. Do you guys only d/l shows you like or everything?

Snapstream is no more illegal than a VCR. This program exists because VHS is very outdated, difficult to store and retrieve, degradeable, and the quality is many times unsatisfactory.

1) The program records the show and its commercials. There is no 'skip commercial' button or commercial remover.

2) The program is designed for individual use. You are allowed to record a show on VHS as long as you don't redistribute it and keep it for your own use. Snapstream follows the same concept. No where does the company or program provide the location or passwords of individuals' servers or recordings.

3) We download the shows we individually record. Theres no point in recording for recordings sake. Virtually none of the divxes you probably find online come from this software because well, all this thing can do is windows media format. And lets just say that .wmv's isn't a popular format for anything beside streaming.

Speaking of which, will there be a commercial skip feature in future releases?

well until snapstream has a player of their own, it depends on microsoft. assuming that snapstream will function well with corona when it comes out, it should let users skip around media files without buffering so skipping 30 seconds will be easier. even though that big media mogul said that skipping commercials is stealing television and that we're breaching the contract that we all have with the tv broadcasters, my response is simply that we need to take a video cassette and shove it up his @#$#)(@# @#)(($ @(#)$)#$#) and tell him @#$()(!!*(@#$(* 19#$*(!@!. if they feel that not enough people are watching commercials, then they need to re-evaluate their business models and change accordingly. people have always had the ability to skip commercials in one way or another, they just didn't want to admit it and bring it to everyone's attention in hopes that you wouldn't do it. screw him.
