New DSS.DLL?

Does anyone have a new DSS.DLL that sends the correct codes for the newer RCA boxes? I have the RCA DRD430RG.

Snapstream is very tough to enjoy without the channel changing features.

Thanks,
Jim

There is a more recent version, but I can't guarantee that it'll work with your tuner. It's worth a try, though:

EDITED (because Ureach.com apparently changes their links all the *@#&! time)

Go to www.ureach.com/z0rak
click on the file cabinet
click on the "DSS TEST"
click on "Latest DSS.DLL"

Tuck... Can you tell me if this latest DSS.dll will work with the RCA DRD420RE?

Also, it doesn't want to download for me for some reason... Can you email it to Andrew.Vogel@UC.edu?

THANKS!

Thanks! Got it without problems! Will install it today and see what happens. It should be a drop-in replacement and work well with my RCA DRD420RE, right?

I'm also using the RCA DRD430RG. When I send a channel change using the latest DLL it resets my box. It could be that my cable's bad. I'll remake it. Has anyone seen this before?

Nothing wrong with your cable

There is nothing wrong with your cable. The codes the dss.dll sends to that box just reset it. We need an updated version of the dss.dll to work with the current line of RCA receivers.

Sony A65

I made an assumption from the threads that the sony dss receivers still used the documented codes. I went out a bought (aka rented) a sony A65A and tried to use the dss.dll with this. It also appears to not work. Has anyone had any luck with new receivers of ANY brand?

Just finished a tuner for the new RCA codes

I just finished getting a tuner done for the New RCA codes. I believe it all works.

The code is available at

http://home.pacbell.net/ptinney/main.cpp

Maybe someone can clean up the code, I just hacked this all together tonight and am not really a C/C++ programmer yet.

I can provide the dll if need be.

More

Oh yeah, just replace the main.cpp from the tuninginterface2.zip from the support page with my main.cpp.

Hey man, I would love to use the new dss.dll. I have an RCA RG as well.

Could you either post the DLL or tell me where to find thsi tuninginterface2.zip?

Posting the dll would be great for those without a vc++ compiler.
Either way, thanks!

Right now, not having a working DSS.DLL is the only thing keeping me from buying this software. I could even develop it myself, given the source shell for the existing dss.dll.

The DLL

The dll is available at
http://home.pacbell.net/ptinney/rcanew.dll
At this point I only compiled it with support for COM1. The tuninginterfacesample.zip is available from the developer link on the SnapStream home page, if you need to change any of the functionality. I also sent the code to the SnapStream dev team.

Thanks much for the .dll - I'll test it out this evening hopefully.

I must have totally missed the developer section - found it now, thanks. (I happen to use COM1, so this .dll should be ok).

If this happens to work the way I hope it does, Snapstream will have made a sale.
