At this time, the answer to your question would be no. Are you intending this to be used as an archival method, or do you actually want to be able to play back these DVDs on a DVD player?..... As of now, snapstream encodes in WMV format, which your DVD player wouldn't be able to read in anycase.

Because of the nature of CD, and therefore DVD technology, data is collected to put onto it and it is burned all at once. There are some technologies for DVD-R that will allow you to use it like a HD, but it usually has to be burned at once.

I am not sure with DVDs, but with CDs, many companies have technologies that let you use it as a HD, and burn it all at once. This requires it to use initializations at the beginning and end of each session, but it might work with Snapstream.

But, if you use DVD-RWs, you wouldn't have this problem. You will only be able to play the discs on the computer, but it wouldn't use up your HD space.

Just direct the Snapstream save directory to the drive letter of the DVD, and do a test recording. Tell me if it works.

Re: recording straight to DVD??

Cyberlink line of software like PowerCinema / PowerProducer can record straigh to DVD+/-R or RW

BTV4 can showsqueeze into DivX, so if you got a DivX MPEG4 capable DVD player, u can just burn those DivX on a DVD as data, and play.

BTV -> DVD can use BTV2DVD plugin, but is a bit slow since it has to demux and remux...
