Need some questions answered before purchase...

I am considering purchasing SnapStream. I need it to work with my new Samsung SIR-TS160 DirecTV box. This unit does not have a serial port on it for control. Will the IR Blaster work with this DirecTV box? I know that I would have to teach it how to use the unit.

What do you use for a TV listing? TitanTV?

I don't see why the IRBlaster wouldn't work with the sat receiver. When setting up the IRBlaster for Snapstream use, you program it using your receivers remote.

For Snapstream 2.0, you can use titantv. Currently in the Snapstream 3.0 beta, you can use Snapstream.net which is titantv like, but much better.

There shouldn't be a problem using the IR Blaster with that box, but we haven't specifically tested that in house. We're trying to get more receivers and remotes in for testing -- hopefully we'll know for sure in the future.

jquevedo -- looked at the near dvd quality settings you are using on your website (2.0 defaults I think). Try lowering the frame rate to 30 fps (dvd runs at about 29.97fps) and increasing the bitrate to about 4000 kb/s, you might see better results in doing so -- let me know.
