Post DSS support

I have Ultimate TV and think it is awesome. I've been playing with Microsoft's Media Center version of XP. These PC based tuner cards are great for cable. How do you record off Satellite? Do you have to have your receiver change to the channel to record? I wish there was a PC way to work the way Ultimate TV works. I just go to the guide and select different programs and click record. How is everyone else recording off of SS & DSS?

There is a device know as the IRBlaster that can be purchased along with SnapStream -- support is built in for using the device which essentially emulates your remote in order to 'change' the channels whenever a recording is schedule to take place. Basically, you train the device to emit the same signals as your remote -- eventually, the hope is that no training will be required and the frequencies will be downloaded.

You can do this with 2.0, along with using an EPG, but it's not have the nice GUI interface that TIVO and others have...

however, version 3.0, coming out this month -- will have a Full Screen interface -- useable with a remote -- that will function in the same way or similiar to TIVO, etc...
