There is a device know as the IRBlaster that can be purchased along with SnapStream -- support is built in for using the device which essentially emulates your remote in order to 'change' the channels whenever a recording is schedule to take place. Basically, you train the device to emit the same signals as your remote -- eventually, the hope is that no training will be required and the frequencies will be downloaded.
You can do this with 2.0, along with using an EPG, but it's not have the nice GUI interface that TIVO and others have...
however, version 3.0, coming out this month -- will have a Full Screen interface -- useable with a remote -- that will function in the same way or similiar to TIVO, etc...
