Question DVDO or something else to make Image Quality of SDTV better?

Is anyone using some external hardware such as DVDO in their setup?

http://www.dvdo.com/faq/faq_isvp50.php

This thing looks like it would help out SDTV recordings in a major way and I have read some pretty good reviews. Of course the $$ are always a question as it is expensive. . .but hey anything to make my SDTV signal look better from DirectTV would be super helpful. . .

Anyone no of options like this. . .
Obviously since capture cards for SDTV only do at best S-video, you'd only be able to clean up the image on the way out from the VGA/DVI so I'm not even sure if it would do any good. . .

Thoughts?

Re: DVDO or something else to make Image Quality of SDTV better?

satellite tv will be made as good as it can be by a vp50......the main problem is the channels with excessive compression.....some think it helps a lot, some a little

i've heard better things about cable than about the overcompressed satellite channels but if you have no choice, order one and you probably have 30 days to see if it is worth it in your setup
