HDTV Playback: MPEG2 vs. TS
This morning, I sent a project through Videoredo for preperation of converting it to DVD. It was a 1 hour long HD show off of CBS. Beyond TV plays all my HD material fine, as all HD material using the Intervideo Non CSS for Hauppauge decoder, but all other players (using the NVIDIA Purevideo decoder) play the tp files with a lot of missing frames, like it can't decode fast enough. I have a GeForce 6200 graphics card. So, for once, rather than just pulling the MPEG2 straight to the editing process, I decide to open it up in Real Player, one of the players with issues on tp files, and it plays GREAT. No missing frames, no chopiness, no pixelation, just smooth video.
So, what is the difference. The file type, MPEG2 TS vs. MPEG2 PS, and the inclusion of commercials. Other than that, NOTHING ELSE. So, why such a difference in performance?? I'm stumped on this one. Since its the same number of frames and the same resolution, I'd expect them to play the same but they don't. Anyone have any insight in to this mystery?
Your ideas and help are greatly appreciated.
