Hey folks,

So I created an informal poll a couple of days ago, and got an incredible response. Such a great response, that maintaining it has become quite difficult. Now, I want to create a more formal poll of only the top 10 of 76 unique request.

Its simple, just vote! You can only do it once, so make it count!

Reply here with any comments on this thread or my locked feature request thread.

Furthermore just to be absolutely clear, this list is by no means a promise that SnapStream will work on your feature now, or in the near future. This could be due to several reasons including resources, legal, technical, and the fact that this is not truly "scientific" data.

Eventhough I do want to vote for more than one and I'd rather vote on others, I think the BM intergration and BTV plugin support is where it should be. If people are able to make working plugins for BTV, cuz there are some talented people with free time on there hands to help BTV out.

Too many choices to only allow us to vote once. My second place could help someone's first place compete with another first place.

Failing a more sophisticated way to rank say the top three (for me, CC, BM fixes, integration), how about after a given time, you remove number 1 and reload the poll with the next 9, then another week, remove number (2) and repeat.

Otherwise, we could have multiple polls where you choose the ranking on each and then statistically average them out.

Just a few thoughts, otherwise the most sensible result is to ignore all other needs and vote for the one or two that are most likely to win.

Wow, picking the top one was harder than I thought. In the end, Beyond Media Integration or BTV support for BM plugins wins out for me. My second choice would be BM fixes (I just want SS's attention to BM in general) and third would be PIP on BTV.

All on this list are important so it really is difficult to decide what to do - I think that is probably how SS feels when they are trying to decide what's next for them.

Here's hoping Brett and the other developers are successfull! I think these polls can be helpful to SS know what their most loyal customers want from the product also.

You might want to read this thread to get an idea of why Brett is polling everyone on this. Does it mean the #1 request will happen? not necessarily. Does it mean you've at least voiced your opinion to those willing to spend their time developing something the community wants? YES
It also is read by the SS folks so it can't hurt to tell them with one voice what the forum members want most.

Thats my take anyway.

Ok, as of now integration is an ipod-like dominant with 53% of the vote (29). second place is split with four 4 votes, then a couple 3s etc. So, question is what is the biggest request AFTER Integration, number 2 on the list? So far I'm good with all the front runners (although QAM I have reservations on, is this encrypted or non-encrypted, or is encrypted actually firewire, it makes my brain hurt)

Amazing how low dual tuner pip went, all those voters must have committed to integration

I'm not saying BM/BTV integration will happen. Brett is working towards a community let project that COULD have one or more of our requests included. Again here's the thread where they talk about this.

I was just trying to answer your question regarding the purpose of this poll, nothing more. Can't hurt to vote right?

Actually... there is a little more going on behind the scenes then even that.

I can not say much now, but lets just say I know SS is dabbling with ideas to increase community involvement. So I'd suggest just continue to vote, and most definitely fill out any random SnapStream survey sent to your email

I've gone this long without integration and it has been fine. I just flip back and forth between BTV and BM with a click of a button, so no big deal right now.

I really want the liveTV in the EPG. I can do without firewire recording. I think we have more hope of getting Snapstream to work with CableLabs on CableCARD support since that would be the more legal approach for a company. QAM will only get unencypted locals, which I already get with OTA. PIP sounds cool, but I doubt I'd use it a lot.
