Re: Vote Now! Top Feature Request!

I voted for the added plug-in support because I really see the vision of having cool add-ons which the community can add. Sometimes special needs can be meet.

But I really wanted QAM. I only get a few HD channels, and I get more on cable (QAM), I would LOVE to have BTV support it. I am seeing this new season has more HD shows, which I'm now looking into getting a HD card, but waiting to see what SS will do soon.

Re: Vote Now! Top Feature Request!

After using BTV for a month here is what I really miss from my Tivo.

1. Slow motion - I was surprised that it is actually missing.
2. Radio recording - One of my TV tuners can do radio but BTV doesn't support it? Of course it should record to mp3 format.

QAM would have been nice but I already put up an antenna and pulled more COAX so for me this issue is solved but I am sure it is a deal breaker for lots of people.

Re: Vote Now! Top Feature Request!

I never expected over 400 votes to this poll. Pretty amazing that there was this much interest - but thats a good thing right?

Marc... this poll was created well after BTV4.5's feature set was determined. Infact, it was in reaction to what I learned about BTV4.5.

Needless to say, there should be no discussing of BTV 4.5 on the general forums, so lets end it at that. Further responses will be split and moved to the beta forum.

Thanks,
-Brett

What does it (or did it) take to get on the beta program?

Re: Vote Now! Top Feature Request!

Requests:

Channel Guide ---

Allow adding channels to the ZIP code channel guide. I would like to add my VCR so I can move some tapes to disk, but it costs me 1 of my 4 tuners. There is no need to request programming info for the added channels. (I could even put 4 VCRs on my tuners and transfer 24 hours of taped shows during the day - and lose none of my evening settings.)

Showsqueeze ---

Add a feature so that I can hide the output formats that I do not use. I wrote 3 that seem to work (reasonable output, reasonable speed) "from Analog 4:3", "from digital 4:3", and "from digital 16:9." I have to search for them everytime I showsqueeze - and there is no way to determine if I selected the right one after I que the job.

Manual Record ---

Add an option "start now."

So don't lose all hope here.
In my boredom, I was reading the posts in this crazy thread. I wonder what types of UI infrastructure changes are in the works? Is this something planned in conjunction with the VISTA support or is it a separate issue?

Re: Vote Now! Top Feature Request!

I would change my vote to QAM now that I have an HDTV. This recording HD situation is ridiculous:
1) Hook up to cable box and get downgraded to SD
2) Buy a roof antenna
3) Buy a Vista CableLabs certified prebuilt mediapc that can record via mediacenter only and can't stream to anything but an xbox 360.
4) Get software that supports QAM

So, anyway #4 is the cheapest and easiest solution for me. I vote for that.

Re: Vote Now! Top Feature Request!

I originally voted for QAM recording, so am not voicing a change in opinion. But having tested the recent DVICO drivers with my HDTV5 USB interface, I am finding that indeed my Time Warner cable signal contains the local HDTV material I wish to record. So come on, Snapstream, can you please listen to the mandate and get on it?

No, this is not for the VISTA version. Rakesh is talking about something entirely different. However, since he did not share any more details, neither can I.

PS: The QAM Voting has clearly been "rigged' .

Re: Vote Now! Top Feature Request!

How about support for Canadian OTA digital channels? Or more flexibility in remapping guide info for channels a la MCE.
