Re: What *new* features do you want?
BM Integration / BTV Plugin Support
I'd really like to see a more "media center" type function in BeyondTV. BM Bug Fixes I know it's in Microsoft's hands to issue a patch, but the whole purpose of switching to Windows for me was to use my ATSC tuner with MCE and stream to my Xbox 360. Improved Control for Post-Processing Would like to be able to compress to iPod compatible format and generate an RSS feed so I can automatically get shows in iTunes (which is on another computer). Improved HD Playback I don't see anything wrong with HD playback now, but OTA HD is important to me. View Upcoming Episodes / BTV Server Status on SnapStream.NET This would be good. Would I need to have my own Webserver and dyndns account, which would probably be a pain for you to try to support. Conflict Resolution Screen This is super important to me. Somehow I ended up missing a show and I can't figure out why. The conflict resolution UI seems kind of difficult. Last edited by Brett; 09-12-2006 at 10:18 PM. Re: What *new* features do you want?
Fix the bugs in the core features. The way CODECs and external players are handled is a big problem unless you want to spend more money to get around them.

Re: What *new* features do you want?
True "services" capability - starting as a service. This might also be a way to get around the Admin privileges / UAC issues in Vista, which appear to be the only compatibility issues that I can see.
Oh....and "Leave AC Audio alone" feature in ShowSqueeze, for HD content. This is a no brainer. Also, Drop layer 2 audio in favor of mp3 for Divx transcodes. Layer 2 is just plain weird for Divx, and difficult to edit with some of the more common editors, like Vdub.

Re: What *new* features do you want?
Wild idea for a feature, but how about supporting the LCD screen on the Logitech G15 keyboard? Many applications out there do for various reasons (Ventrilo, World Of Warcraft, etc). The SDK for it is free.
It'd be nice to see the BTV status on the keyboard without having to turn on the TV or spend lots of $$ for a PC case that has a VFD.

Re: What *new* features do you want?
Here is my list.
1.BM Integration / BTV Plugin Support (Yes I agree totally with the current top 2" 2.BM Bug Fixes (BM needs Snapstreams full attention and as much positive support from the current amazingly talented plug-in people) 3.QAM Recording (If I was in EU then needless to say DVB) 4.PVR to Go Feature (my unrealistic dream is Palm support) 5.Built in burn to disk/media (continued interest towards archiving options) I could go on and on but I will say after looking and testing some 10 plus choices for HTPC frontends this is the one I paid for and want to keep. Everyone has favorites and features to set them apart but for me and many others presumably functionality enhancing plug-ins will continue to be the greatest asset to this software, once the development of improved and new ideas stops flowing then some other program may steal the fire form my current favorite BTV/BM/BTV link... Good job folks, I continue to encourage my friends to try Snapstreams software knowing that the best product will be the one with the best community! (Love the firefly now go steal that damn Thompson Media Center / Gyration hybrid remote and call it the firefly II. DVD catalog plug-in rocks use Ripit4me.exeto .ISO everything then DAEMON TOOLS to mount images) Last edited by jsaint; 09-13-2006 at 11:15 PM. Reason: added comment |

Re: What *new* features do you want?
And I'll add my vote to both of Bilar's items (post #53): running BTV server as a real Windows service (starts at boot time, not at user login) and preserving AC3 audio in ShowSqueezed HD recordings.

Re: What *new* features do you want?
* Color-coded guide would be nice.
* The ability to define SmartSkip settings by *channel* (for example, I NEVER want to SmartSkip HBO). * IMDB link for movies through the Guide (remember that from a long time ago?). I liked that feature.
