Please define "get this to work." Are you trying to set up recordings, or play them using the html page that snapstream outputs? Are you trying to access snapstream tasks from within your network, or outside? You might want to make sure you have the appropriate ports open in your firewall. I personally have ports 1755 and 8129. If you are trying to pay back recordings from the html page outside your network, you would have to manually change the url to load, as the html page only outputs the urls with the ip address of the machine snapstream is running up. (yes, it is another bug)

I've tried using those ports and get the dreaded "Page cannot be Displayed". Do I have to open ports on the router? If so where? The router is doing NAT so I'm thinking it needs to be set in the router somewhere just not sure where. Also how would I access this from dialup on my laptop?

I wouldn't consider that a bug; depending upon how the security is set up, there may be multiple outside IPs. Thus, the SnapStream server would have no way to know what IP address to use in the link.

Even without that complication, it's not easy to find out the outside IP address. As far as I know, the only way to find out is by asking a system outside.

Why use an IP anyway? Shouldn't we have the option to specify a DNS?

I must admit, the Snapstream web access stinks --- there is no way I would even try and use it on a so-called production box. I prefer to dump my HTML files to a "virtual" diretory. Snapstream insists on dumping files to the root of the website.

Kinds of screws up having stuff organized....

The documentation needs more work -- there are features that are included in the Admin that aren't included in the 2.0 release. And there is no HOW-TO docs for the non-PC savvy.
