Transparent Snapstream.Net Guide?

Is there any way to make the guide pop up over the channel you are currently watching so that you don't have to stop the recording on the timeshift?

On my machine when I hit the menu button to bring up the Snapstream.Net guide and then go back into live TV on the same channel I was on, the time shifting recording starts over. I think it should be an option to pop up the channel guide OVER the live TV. The only way I have found around this is to actually hit record on the remote before i go into the guide.

I can just hit channel up and down, which gives me the single channel guide transparency over the live TV. The problem is this isn't as intuitive as the guide itself, and I have to see what is on each channel individually that way. Using the guide is much easier since I can "skim" all the channels.

Am I even making sense, or should I post screenshots? I tested it on another machine and it does the same thing. I think if you go into the guide while watching live TV it should continue recording what you were just watching as a time shifting recording, not as a recorded show.

Re: Transparent Snapstream.Net Guide?

What remote are you using? Pressing the "e" key on the keyboard, the "A" button on the regular RF Firefly, and/or the "Guide" button on the Firefly mini will bring up the guide over the currently playing show without stopping the show/timeshifting buffer.

On the PVR150 remote I had to remap the guide button from F7 to e in the irremote.ini file. I think the default setup puts "e" on the red button. BTV overwrites the ini file every time you run setup so it needs to be redone whenever you setup/edit the remote.

Re: Transparent Snapstream.Net Guide?

FYI it also works in overlay mode except that the guide is not transparent but you can still hear the audio. Most use overlay because the picture is better.

Re: Transparent Snapstream.Net Guide?

I like it with transparency

The main reason I wanted the feature though is so that the timeshifting buffer stays intact. If I use the guide button it takes me to the main menu and the timeshifting buffer gets erased even if I have the program paused. This is a nice solution.

Thanks Again!
