Thanks! I figured you were just busy working on QAM or something and I didn't want to be a pest

Awesome! I will start working on setting the the scripts to transfer files and such as soon as I get the info. If there is anyone who wants to help me with getting some content up, or writing editorials or tutorials, PM me.

I was hoping Rich A. would be interested in doing editorials or opinion pieces once in a while. Rich, if you are interested let me know. Even if I could just mirror some of your stuff from the forums it would be awesome.

cat6man or Fonceur might have some good input towards qam development underway

I would be willing to contribute if you have any ideas.

Re: Website for cataloging downloads, knowledge, tutorials etc.

You know, an interview with a SS representative might be really good. Don't know if one of them would be willing to do that, but it would be interesting for SS product users as well as the whole HTPC world.

Great idea. Maybe I will get a list of questions together to ask. Worst case is they say no, huh?

I have some under the hood work to do now. All the user uploads will be "approved" before they are available for public download. So I have to write a program/script which will allow an administrator to approve a file, and have it automatically transfer to the download server. Then it would be marked as available for download by the web server.

My original program was just moving the file to a public directory on the same server (much more simple). I also want my home server to auto-download all new files once a day to make sure there is an archive available. The database already will auto-backup as well in case it ever needs to be restored.

I am a fiend for redundancy when it comes to things like this

How about I just hire a pair of voice actors to read the interview, and say it was a podcast?

Re: Website for cataloging downloads, knowledge, tutorials etc.

Unbelievable timing on the talk of an interview/podcast of Rakesh guys. Rakesh actually did an interview on a podcast for www.PVRWire.com that was posted TODAY. If you use Beyond Media or Beyond TV, this is a must-listen interview.

Here's the link for the podcast & blog entry It was done by Brad Linder of www.pvrwire.com

o.k. Who is Brad Linder around here? I'm assuming he is someone that posts on the forum based on things he's said.

Re: Website for cataloging downloads, knowledge, tutorials etc.

Beyond downloads etc, What types of information would you forum members want to see on this website ClamstheCat is working on?

My suggestions:
* Best settings and tweaks for the perfect picture on SD & HD
* Detailed Info on Beyond Media Plugins - how to set up, how they work
* Detailed Info on Beyond TV Plugins - how to set up, how they work
* Detailed Info on the MediaMVP and BTV Skin
* Detailed Info on Fonceurs BTVNegociator Plugin that allows you to view unecrypted QAM among other powerful features
* Sample setups that other users have
* Updated Info on the webadmin features

Tell me your ideas,
Brent

Re: Website for cataloging downloads, knowledge, tutorials etc.

Is it ever going to be finished? It must be huge project if it takes 3+ months to see any content...
It begins to look like never-ending wait for BTV/BM integration…

The wait isn't about the content, its about setting up the other stuff. Its all being done "for fun" by clamsthecat for now, but it will be here soon.

Re: Website for cataloging downloads, knowledge, tutorials etc.

I have a couple of people helping me out with some things now as far as content goes as well. It will be up in a rough form by next week. I am still looking for people to help write FAQs for the site regarding anything BTV/BM/HTPC related. If you are interested drop me a line.
