Re: Vista- What's the Price?

Here's a funny one. Today I got my PC World Magazine for September. The last page has an editorial. It echos pretty much what I said.

Re: Vista- What's the Price?

I love this thread.

I also post on the Baltimore Sun forum, mostly in the Ravens forum. There is minimal activity in the Computer Forum. The regular posters there are in love with Vista and attack Mac at all costs. I have stayed out of the majority of it.

My view is that we need a competitor to Windows. Unfortunately, I don't see it happening until programs start getting written for the competitor. I ran Ubuntu for about 5 months on my laptop before I finally gave up on it. Java on Firefox did not run properly. Despite what anyone says, Adobe Photoshop Elements beats any photo editor (and comparing those freeware programs to Photoshop is just laughable). The only software that I did decide to continue to use in Windows was OpenOffice. I will never buy M$ Office again. Also, if Evolution was made for Windows, that would be great too.

I just wish Corel would have stuck with developing linux. Of course, when Microsoft comes to you and says, we will fund WordPerfect if you stop the development of Linux, what do you expect to happen?
