Question Newbie Question: Guide while watching TV?

Is there no support in BeyondTV to view TV while browsing the program guide? I keep going back and forth on BeyondTV and SageTV. Argh, so many things to consider. Would be helpful if BeyondTV supported this, but I don't see it in any screenshots, and didn't see any option for it while I was just using the trial version

yes you can view guide while watching - get your mouse active and go up to top right of screen - then hit the little symbol that looks like a clock, just to left of the back arrow

Also if your remote is configured for it, it is just one touch away (the equivalent of pressing G, E or such).

Re: Newbie Question: Guide while watching TV?

Hate to bring this up again, but now I got my HTPC put together and I've been trying to view the guide while watching TV, and it doesn't seem to work. When you click the little clock icon, it takes you to the guide, but you can't see the current show. You can hear it but not see it, and unfortunately, this is a must have feature for the wife to like Beyondtv Am I out of luck? We would always browse the guide and set things to record while watching a show with our old Dish Network PVR.

In 3D accelerated mode the guide is transparent, so you can still see your tv show under it...

But not in overlay mode?

Re: Newbie Question: Guide while watching TV?

Correct. In Overlay mode, the guide covers the video portion.

Re: Newbie Question: Guide while watching TV?

Thanks for the reply! However, my problem was different and I'm posting to help anyone else who may run into it. I was using the F7 hotkey to view the guide, which kept taking me to an overlay guide, whereas I found out hitting the 'e' key brings up the transparent guide.
