Automatic Post-processing?

Is there any way to automatically run a command or a batch file after a recording has finished? Every night a run batch file to re-mux my MPEGs (to fix audio sync issues) but I'd like to change this to run after each recording. Any why to do this?

There is still a place to plug in an "archive" command in the Web admin but I'm not sure how to invoke this automatically or even manually. "Archive" used to be an option on the GUI but I do not see it anymore.

Thanks.

Re: Automatic Post-processing?

There was a way to add a custom command via a dll mechanism. It was rather ... complicated and I don't know if it was retained in v4.0

Take a look at ...

That looks promising I just hope it works for 4.x. Not much in the way of documentation.... Any idea how the file name is passed to the program? %1?

Re: Automatic Post-processing?

From the emails I exchanged back in 2003 it looks like the ssppcmd.dll source code launches the cmd with the filepath as the first argument.

So yes; I expect it will appear as argv[1] or %1 toa batch file

Thanks, I tried a little test last night and nothing seemed to happen. I did not reboot however, I just copied the .DLL and .XML files to the specified places and waited for a rcording to end. I'll have to do more experiemnting tonight, 6 year old and 4 year old permitting.

Re: Automatic Post-processing?

Hehe.

Well I did some more work in it yesterday and I actually got it working like a charm with v4.2. Basicly what I had to do to see the immediate change was to change the setting <Priority>Deferred</Priority> with <Priority>Immediate</Priority> and viola! my batch file fires after each recording.

It works on 4.5... the AutoXvid (in the BTV Downloads Section) as well as others make use of it.

You have to make sure that ssppcmd.dll file is in C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\SnapStream\Beyond TV\Plugins. You might want to look at posthaste. It is more reliable than a batch file.

Re: Automatic Post-processing?

I've got it working fine in 4.5, I use it to launch a batch file, and it is set for immediate.

Re: Automatic Post-processing?

Thanks for the advice. I got it to work with PostHaste. I think I may have been having trouble since my script was written in Perl, and the Perl interpreter may not have gotten called. PostHaste is able to run the Perl script without any problems, though.

Re: Automatic Post-processing?

I've been using Snapstream's Post Processing since version 4.1 and it has worked in every version.
