DMA is in reference to hard drives. There is no real difference in DMA on your hard drive or non DMA since we aren't really dealing with a high bandwidth of data traveling to the disk. If you were ripping a DVD or something then you have ALOT of data to deal with. It might save you a few CPU cycles since it doesn't have to go throught the processor but nothing that you can really tell a difference in. Enable DMA if you have it. Nothing to lose if you do.
Since the TV Window isn't displayed turning the windows animation on and off shouldn't matter. I know showshifter has a problem with it set on but they also have a fullscreen UI.
